Delta resumes service to Shanghai after 6 years

Delta Airlines last flew between Atlanta and Shanghai back in 2012. The SkyTeam member has returned to the 12,299 kilometer transcontinental sector with a daily service, with the carrier planning to utilise its fleet of 777-200LRs on the route resumed service between Atlanta (ATL) and Shanghai Pudong (PVG) on 20 July. Currently Delta is the only airline flying non-stop between the two airports. In 2017 just under 37,000 passengers travelled indirectly between Atlanta and Shanghai, similar to the levels reported in 2016. Along with Atlanta, Delta serves Shanghai non-stop from Detroit, Los Angles and Seattle-Tacoma, the flight time from Atlanta takes roughly 15 hours.
