Just few hours ago i wrote about how Airbus renamed the C Series from Bombardier CS to Airbus A22 series.
Just hours after the Bombardier C-Series was rebranded under Airbus ownership earlier today, JetBlue ordered up to 120 Airbus A220-300s to replace their aging Embraer 190 fleet, the airline also converted their existing order for 25 A320neos to the larger A321neos.
Jetblue ordered 60 A220-300's, with deliveries to start in 2020, and another 60 options for delivery from 2025. JetBlue will take all A220-300s, previously known as the CS300, from an assembly facility in Mobile, Alabama, which is yet to be built. The new A220's previously known as C-series is also 40% more fuel efficient than Jetblue's current embraer 190.
Honestly it makes sense for Jetblue to order the A220's because one: the A220 seat more people than the embraer 190 Two: they are more fuel efficient and three the a220 has longer range. This order also means a big loss for Boeing.
The seating configuration for Jetblue is not finalized yet.
