IAG establishes new low cost airline overnight to compete with Ryanair

International Airlines Group launches new short-haul airline under the already existing brand Level within 19 days’ notice. But a spokesperson for IAG said: “We’re so confident that the new operation will be a success, that tickets will fly off the shelves like hot cakes. LEVEL airlines started flying long haul flights just last year nad now they will start flying short haul within Europe. The new short-haul subsidiary will have Austrian air operator's certificate (AOC) and be based at Vienna airport. The four ex-Air Berlin A321s will be configured with 210 economy seats and they are bigger planes than other low-cost carriers which flies B737 AND A320's.

Operations are to begin on 17 July with flights from Vienna to Spanish island Majorca and London Gatwick
