Asiana A330 collision with Turkish A321

On Sunday an Asiana Airbus A330-300 collided with a Turkish Airlines A321 Aircraft during taxing in Istanbul Atatürk Airport. The Asiana Airbus A330-300 was getting ready and taxing to the runway to depart to Seoul when it crashed into the Turkish Airlines A321's tail while parking and caused extensive damage on the vertical stabilizer of the Turkish plane.

The reason this happened was due to the Turkish Airline aircraft being to close to the taxiway and not attached to its parking position which was few meters ahead.

The Asiana Airbus A330-300 bears registration HL7792 and is owned by AerCap, while the Turkish A321 is registered TC-JMM is leased from DAE Capital

Turkish Airlines acknowledged the accident in a statement, adding that there were no injuries to passengers and crew.

The accident is being investigated by Turkish and South Korean authorities.
